The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination-2017


The mode of Examination
It is the Common Entrance Examination in offline mode (paper based examination) for admission to different Degree Level Courses in Engineering & Technology, Pharmacy and Architecture in Universities, Government Colleges as well as Self Financing Engineering & Technological Institutes in the State of West Bengal.

Subjects of Examination
The “WBJEE-2017” will be on Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.

Two papers of examinations will be there.
‘Paper-I’ - Mathematics and
‘Paper-II’ - Physics & Chemistry combined.

1.      For admission to any Engineering/Technology/Architecture Course appearing in both Paper-I and Paper-II is compulsory.
2.      For admission to Pharmacy Course of the Jadavpur University, appearing in both Paper-I and Paper-II is compulsory. 3. For admission to any Pharmacy Course other than that of the Jadavpur University, appearing in mathematics is not compulsory. Score in ‘Physics + Chemistry’ (paper II) only shall be considered.
3.      Students appearing in both Paper-I and Paper-II are also eligible for admission to Pharmacy course

VITEEE-2017

VIT University, established under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission (UGC) Act, 1956, was founded in 1984 as a self-financing Institution called the Vellore Engineering College. The Union Ministry of Human Resource Development conferred University status on Vellore Engineering College in 2001. The University is headed by its founder and Chancellor, Dr. G. Viswanathan, a former Parliamentarian and Minister in the Tamil Nadu Government. In recognition of his service to India in offering world class education, he was conferred an honorary doctorate by the West Virginia University, USA.

Eligibility Norms
·         Candidates whose date of birth falls on or after 1st July 1995 are eligible to apply for VITEEE-2017
·         Candidates appearing for the VITEEE in 2017 should have secured an aggregate of 60% in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/Biology in the qualifying examination (+2/Intermediate)
·         The average marks obtained in the subjects Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics or Biology (PCM / PCB) in +2 (or its equivalent) put together should be 50% for the SC/ST & North Eastern State
·         Candidates who have studied in Regular, Full Time and Formal Education are alone eligible to apply
·         'NIOS' candidates are also eligible to appear for the VITEEE-2017
