JKCET-2013 for MBBS


Haroon Rashed Bhat (Born in 1996) son of Abdul Rasheed Bhat appeared under Roll no. 633381 in open merit category, scored 207 marks and emerged as topper of JKCET 2013. A boy from village Poshpora has topped the Common Entrance Test (JKCET) held on July 27-28 the results of which were declared on 6th August, Tuesday.


Jammu & Kashmir Common Entrance Test:

JKCET is conducted every year by the Board of Professional Entrance examinations (BoPEE) in Jammu & Kashmir State by an Act of the State Legislative for the selection of candidates for admission to various professional courses in Jammu & Kashmir. In Jammu & Kashmir, admission through JKCET entrance to undergraduate courses such as engineering, medical, agriculture and dental is based upon the JKCET test scores. Both the Government aided and private institutions in Jammu & Kashmir will accept the merit ranking of CET for admission into various programs.
In the year 1987, the government of Jammu & Kashmir, constituted a full-time J&K CET examining body, Competent Authority engineering & medical entrance examinations in Jammu & Kashmir. Before 1987, selections for engineering & medical courses in Jammu & Kashmir the state were made by a designated Government Department in the Civil Secretariat as an additional item of its work. Gradually, the number of students who were appearing in JKCET entrance examinations increased and as a consequence, the work of organizing entrance examinations also increased.

JKCET Qualification Criteria:

Jammu & Kashmir government set the qualification guidelines known as J&K CET exam eligibility criteria. Upon successful completion of Jammu & Kashmir Common Entrance Test (JKCET) eligibility criteria, then a student will be able to get JKCET exam admit card.
·         Candidate must be permanent resident of J&K state.
·         Candidate must complete 17 years of age before to appear in J&K CET test to take admission in engineering & medical courses.
·         Passed 10th & (10+2) from a recognised board.
JKCET Exam Pattern:
Jammu and Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examinations (BoPEE) conducts the common entrance test for admitting students in various private and government institutes in the state.

 JKCET Nature of Question Papers:


1.      JKCET shall consist of 3 papers of objective type Multiple Choice Questions.
2.      Each paper will have 75 questions.
3.      Each question carries one (1) mark and all questions are compulsory.
4.      Each question paper has four series, which are in alphabets (i.e. A, B, C, D) printed on the cover page of the question booklet. The candidates may or may not get the same series for all the papers.
5.      Candidates should not make any type of marking on the question booklet. Paper for rough work is included in the question booklet.
6.      Negative marking introduced first time in JKCET-2013. It may cause low merit.

Note:
Write your roll number on the cover page of the question booklet at the space provided for the purpose. Do not open the seal containing question booklet until you are asked to do so. In case of defects like missing question (s), the booklet shall be replaced with the same series by the Invigilator. No complaint shall be entertained after the test. At the end of the test, candidates can take the question booklets with them.

How to Apply for JKCET:

The Application Form with the Information Brochure is made available in the specified Branches of the Jammu & Kashmir Bank Ltd. against a fee of Rs. 750.00. In addition to the above fee of Rs. 750, candidates shall have to pay such service charges as may be fixed by the Bank.

Application Form and Information Brochure can also be downloaded from the Website of the Board of Professional Entrance Examinations. The entrance examination fee is non-refundable. If a candidate who applies for sitting in the Entrance Test is later found ineligible, he/she cannot claim refund of the fee paid by him/her.

How to Submit JKCET Application Form:

1.      Filled in application form, complete in all respects, can be submitted personally at the offices of the Board of Professional Entrance Examinations, Baghat-i-Barzulla, Opposite J&K Bank, Srinagar - 190005  (Kashmir) or 4th Floor, South Block, Bahu Plaza, Jammu-180012 against receipt (Acknowledgment Card) during working hours on or before the last date fixed for receipt of application forms.

2.      Application Form can also be sent by registered post/speed post in the name of The Controller of Examinations, BPEE at Jammu and Srinagar on the address as indicated above at (i). Application Forms received after the prescribed last date by whatever mode, including registered and speed post or through courier service will not be entertained. Nor will those forms be returned to the concerned candidates.

3.      Application Form downloaded from the Website of the Board can be sent by registered / speed post so as to reach the office of the Board Srinagar / Jammu before or by the last date prescribed along with the photographs and Rs 750/- (Rupees Seven Hindered and Fifty Only) in the form of demand draft in favour of F.A/CAO, Board of Professional Entrance Examinations payable at RCC Srinagar / Jammu. Candidates downloading application forms from Website must retain a photocopy of each of the generated form and demand draft for further correspondence, if required for reference.

4.      If an application form is sent through post and is lost in transit or does not reach the office of the Board or reaches the office of the Board after prescribed date due to postal lapses/delays, the Board shall not accept any responsibility for the same.

5.      The candidates are advised not to send the application through courier service.

6.      Once the application form is submitted, no alteration will be allowed thereafter.
