Aligarh Muslim University -Common Entrance Test (Medical) -2014

1.      Aligarh Muslim University was established by Syed Ahmed Khan in the year 1875.
2.      Candidate must be 17 years old at the time of exam.
3.      A candidate should obtain 50% marks in aggregate.
4.      Entrance Exam will be conduct on First Week of June.
5.      There shall be a Combined Admission Test for admission to M.B.B.S. and B.D.S.

About Aligarh Muslim University:

This Mohammedan Anglo Oriental (MAO) College gained the status of a full-fledged University in the year 1920. Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) Medical Entrance Exam is conducted for the admission of students to the MBBS and BDS courses. Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) Medical Entrance Exam is generally held in the end of May. Duration is 4 ½ years.

Eligibility Criteria:

The following eligibility criteria shall be followed for admission in AMU-

·         Age: Not less than 17 years as on 31st December in the year of admission.

·         Qualifying Examinations: Candidates seeking admission to the MBBS and BDS course should have passed the Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination of this University

·         Subjects (aggregate):  Minimum of 50% marks in aggregate in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English.

Exam Pattern:

Duration of AMU-CET is 3 hours. There shall be one objective type paper of 200 marks comprising 200 questions on four subjects’ like Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology as-

Admission Process:

·         The candidates should secure at least 50% marks in the Admission Test to become eligible for selection procedure.
·         Selection will be through Admission Test. 

·         Filling of Application Form shall be through ONLINE only.

·         Form must be submitted to

Important Information:

Candidates applying for M.B.B.S. can also apply for admission to B.D.S. on the same Application Form without paying any additional Admission Test Fee. They should clearly indicate in their Application Form their choices in order of preference. Selected candidates will have to go through medical fitness examination before completing the admission.

Reservation of Seats (Open for all states):

·         150 seats for MBBS (145 + 5 seats of NRIs)
·         40 seats for BDS (35 + 5 seats of NRIs)

About Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham (University):

The Amrita School of Medicine was founded in 2002 by Sri Mata Amritanandamayi Devi, Amma. As a world-renowned humanitarian and spiritual leader, Amma's life exemplifies compassion and service in every action. Amma is the Chancellor of the university and the School of Medicine draws its inspiration from her.
The MBBS degree is a five and a half year program in Medicine, including a one year internship. The curriculum is based on the directives of the Medical Council of India. Clinical exposure begins in the second year, with classes conducted by clinical specialists emphasizing the relevance of basic sciences to clinical practices. Hospital postings and field visits to public health centers aim at providing exposure to the students about different scenarios in which doctors in India find themselves, so that the best care is provided in all the circumstances.

Eligibility:
  1. Should complete the age of 17 years by 31.12.2014 and should not exceed 23 by the said date.
  2. Pass in higher secondary examination or its equivalent in the first attempt with 60% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology / Biotechnology taken together and 60% marks in English separately.
  3. Those who appear for the qualifying examination in March / April 2014 can also apply.
Entrance Exam Pattern:

There will be only one question paper containing objective type questions in Biology, Physics and Chemistry. Each question will be followed by four answers of which only one is correct / most appropriate. The question booklet will be in English. Each question carries 3 marks. Negative mark (-1) will be awarded for each wrong answer. The duration of the Exam is 150 minutes (09.30 AM to 12.00 PM).

Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University-CET - 2014

MBBS Programme in GGSIPU [Code: 103]


1.      Admission into various degree programs whether undergraduate or post graduate level in Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University is taken via Common Entrance Test (CET).
2.      Minimum age should be 17 years as on the 31st December of the year of exam.
3.      Candidate must have passed Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks and 40% in case of SC/ST candidates.
4.      Date of Common Entrance Test for MBBS (Stage–I) is 4th May, 2014 and for MBBS (Stage–II) is 1st June, 2014.

About GGSIPU:

Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) is established by the Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi under the University Act 1998. GGSIPU imparts education in wide array of disciplines. The IP University is accredited by NAAC and given ‘A’ grade. The course of studies leading to the award of degree of Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) shall be minimum of 4½ years followed by one year compulsory rotational Internship. The entrance test for this course is conducted in 2-stages, i.e. stage-I & stage-II. Vardhman Mahavir Medical College (VMMC) in association with Safdarjung Hospital was established at Safdarjung Hospital by the Government of India in November, 2001 and the college is affiliated to Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Delhi.

The last date for submission of CET application forms is 10th April 2014 (Thursday) for MBBS &
BDS programmes.

However, depending upon the number of candidates at any station, the final venue of the CET: MBBS - 2014 (Stage I) will be communicated to the candidates through Admit Cards. MBBS (Stage II) test will be held only at Delhi. In case of any query, candidate may contact on 011-25302287.
Eligibility Criteria:
Students from Delhi region or outer state preparing for IP University Common Entrance Test must go through eligibility criteria notification as given below.

·         Nationality- Candidate should be an Indian citizen. Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) are not eligible.

·         Age- Candidate should be of 17 (Seventeen) years as on the 31st December, 2014.

·         Qualification- Candidate should have passed the 12th Class under the (10+2) Scheme/Senior School Certificate Examination or Intermediate Science (I. Sc.) or an equivalent examination of the recognised University/Board of any Indian State with PHYSICS, CHEMISTRY, BIOLOGY and ENGLISH (Core or Elective or Functional).

·         Qualifying Subjects (Aggregate) - Candidate must have passed in the subject of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English (Core or Elective or Functional) individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology (40% in case of SC/ST candidates, subject to availability of seat for these categories in the respective institutions).

Pattern of Examination:

All the candidates who are keen to seek admission to MBBS programme for the Academic Session 2014-15 must appear in the Common Entrance Test: CET Code 103 (2014), which will be conducted by the Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Sector-16 C, Dwarka, New Delhi-110078. There will be two stages of the Common Entrance Test. Only qualified candidates of Stage I will be allowed to appear in Stage II Entrance Test of MBBS.

There will be two stages of the GGSIPU-Common Entrance Test. Only qualified candidates of Stage-I will be allowed to appear in Stage-II Entrance Test of MBBS.

The IPU CET test paper will contain 200 objective-type Multiple Choice Questions on Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology in all. Each question shall carry three marks. One mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer. Incorrect answers will include both the “wrong answers” as well as “more than one answer to a question”. The IPU-CET will be of 3 hours duration and will carry 600 marks. The medium of the tests will be English only.

Candidates should bring a black ball point pen to the Examination Hall for writing/ marking responses on OMR answer sheet. Use of pencil is not allowed. No requests for re-checking, re-evaluation, reassessment or scrutiny of OMR answer sheet will be entertained.

Syllabus: The level of questions will be that of 12th class under the 10+2 Scheme/Intermediate Science. Syllabi for Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany and Zoology) shall be as specified by CBSE for class 11th and 12th under 10+2 scheme for students passing class 12th in the year 2014.
Admission Procedure:
The Admission Brochure-IV will be sale on all working days during normal Banking hours through the branches of Indian Bank.
Sale by Post- 
Admission Brochure along with Application Form can also be obtained through registered/speed post. A request in this regard should be sent to the Joint Registrar (Academic), Administrative Block, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Sector 16 C, Dwarka, New Delhi-110075 along with the following:
i.                    An application on plain paper, addressed to the Joint Registrar (Academic) requesting to issue Admission Brochure-IV (MBBS Programme). The application should clearly mention the name and the address of the applicant;
ii.                  A Demand Draft drawn in favour of Registrar, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, payable at Delhi. The name, address and phone number of the applicant should be clearly mentioned on the back side of the Demand Draft/Pay Order;
iii.                A self-addressed envelope of size not less than 24cms x 30cms.

Submission of Application Form- 
The applicants are advised to retain a photocopy of the duly filled-in Application Form before the same is submitted to the University.
The Application Form complete in all respects in the sealed printed envelope given along with Admission Brochure-IV, should be submitted by hand at the University counter or it may be sent by Registered/Speed Post to the –
