Eligibility Criteria for JEE
· Candidates of GEN and OBC-NCL categories must have been completed 17 years at the time of admission and should be an Indian National.
· The upper age limit for JEE (Advanced) is 25 years for GE and OBC-NCL categories and this upper age limit shall be relaxed by a period of 5 years for SC, ST and PwD categories.

In addition to JEE score, the qualifying examination will be Class-XII from any National/State or ‘Approved’ International Board.
a. For NITs, IIITs or CFTIs, normalized marks of XII board will be considered and eligibility to be same as earlier, which is minimum 60% marks in PCM in XII.
b. For IITs, the student must be in Top 20 percentile of their Class-XII boards.
c. Marks of 5 subjects will be considered: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, 1-Language, 5th Optional subject like ED, Comp Sc etc.

Those appearing in 10+2 final or equivalent examination may also appear in JEE (Main) in the following year provisionally.

However, admission criteria in the concerned Institution / University will be followed as prescribed by the concerned University/ Institution and as per the guidelines & criteria prescribed by the AICTE.

The aspirants for NITs, IIITs, CFTIs, IITs and ISM-Dhanbad must ensure their eligibility for admission.

· Maximum number of attempts a candidate can avail at JEE (Main) shall be three and for JEE (Advanced), two in uniformly in consecutive years.
State Code of Eligibility means the Code of the State from where a candidate has passed (+2) examination by virtue of which he/she becomes eligible to appear in the JEE (Main) for admission to B.E. / B. Test Pattern of JEE
The admission to the undergraduate programmes at the JEE (Main & Advanced) is based on a two-tier test. The first test is called the JEE (Main) for NITs & IIITs shall be held during the month of April (both offline and online) conducted by CBSE/ MHRD. The second test, JEE (Advanced) for IITs & ISMU-Dhanbad shall be held on May (only offline) conducted by the IITs/ JEE body.
Exam Structure of JEE (Main):
The JEE (Main) exam consists of one test of 3 hours for B.E./ B. Tech & one test for B. Arch/ B. Planning aspirants. Paper-1 contains total 90 Multiple Choice Objective type questions with equal weightage to Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Each correct answer will be awarded 4 marks whereas each incorrect answer will be awarded 1/4th negative marks. Maximum mark is 360. Mode of the test is both offline and online for Paper-1 and only offline for Paper-2. Question papers are provided in both English and Hindi medium.

Exam Structure of JEE (Advanced)
The JEE (Advanced) consists of two papers i.e., Paper-1 & Paper-2. Duration of each paper is 3 hours. Each paper contains multiple choice objective type questions of Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics. Some Sections are also with negative marking. Question papers are provided in both English and Hindi medium.
