addition to examination fee, service/processing charges will also be paid by
the candidate for online payment of fee through Debit / Credit Card/ Challan
along with Service Tax as applicable. Claims for refund of application fee will

Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Nagaland, Tripura, Sikkim, Lahaul, Spiti
District and Pangi sub-division of Chamba District of Himachal Pradesh, Andaman

NEET – Pattern of Examination:
1.
NEET (UG) Entrance Examination shall consist
of one paper containing 180 objective
type questions from Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology.
2.
Questions are of four options with single
correct answer.
3.
The duration of paper would be 3 hours.
4.
Each item carries 4 marks. For each correct
response the candidate will get 4 marks.
5.
For each incorrect response one (1) mark will be deducted from the
total score i.e, 1/4th negative marking.
6.
No deduction from the total score will,
however, be made if no response is indicated for an item in the answer
sheet.
7.
More than one answer indicated a question
will be deemed as incorrect response and will be negatively marked.
8.
For the purpose of evaluation, the Test
Booklet code as printed in the Answer Sheet on side-2 will be accepted as
final.
9.
All candidates can opt for Question Paper
either in English or in Hindi.
10. Candidates
who have passed/appearing from the State Boards of Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Gujarat,
Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and West Bengal and seeking admission in the
institutions located in the State concerned under State Quota seats only can
opt for Question Paper in their respective Regional Language i.e. Telugu, Assamese, Gujarati, Marathi, Tamil
and Bengali.
NEET – Eligibility Criteria:
1.
Indian
Nationals and Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) are eligible for
admission in Medical/Dental Colleges subject to rules and regulations framed by
the respective State Governments and the Government of India.
2.
He/ She has completed age of 17 years at the time of admission or
will complete the age on or before 31st December of the year of
his/her admission to the 1st year MBBS/BDS Course.
3.
The upper age limit for candidates seeking
admission under 15% All India Quota Seats is 25 years.
4.
This upper age limit shall be relaxed by a
period of 5 (five) years for the
candidates of Scheduled Castes/ Scheduled Tribes/ Other Backward Classes.
5.
The candidate must have passed in the
subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Bio-technology and English individually
and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks for General Category, 45% marks
for Gen-PH, 40% for SC/ST/OBC and SC-PH/ST-PH/OBC-PH taken together in Physics,
Chemistry and Biology/Bio-technology at the qualifying examination.
6.
A candidate who is appearing in the
qualifying examination, i.e., 12th Standard in 2013 whose result is
awaited, may apply and take up the said test but he/she shall not be eligible
for admission to the MBBS or BDS, if he/she does not pass the qualifying
examination with the required pass percentage of marks.
7.
Qualifying criterion has been changed from
50% of absolute marks in NEET to 50th percentile for GC, 45th percentile for GC-PH, 40th
percentile for SC/ST/OBC students in NEET to ensure that no seat
remains unfilled.
8.
The percentile shall be determined on the
basis of highest marks secured in All
India common merit list in NEET for admission to MBBS course.
9.
No state eligibility criteria will be applicable the students who take
admission under 15% All India Quota Scheme.
10. A candidate can attempt maximum
of three times.
NEET Merit List &
Rankings:
a. NEET body (i.e. CBSE)
shall provide All India as well
as State wise merit list of the eligible candidates on the marks
obtained in the NEET.
b. Rank Usage for NEET
qualified students:
i.
National Rank: A student can use National Rank to take
admission in any of the NEET affiliated MBBS colleges in India.
ii.
State Rank: A student can use State Rank to take
admission in any of the affiliated colleges in the state from here he/she has
done class XI & XII or holds a domicile.
iii.
The NEET guidelines require that 85% of the MBBS seats in the medical colleges across the state be
reserved under the state quota. The remaining 15% remain open to candidates from other states.
c. Admission to AFMC,
Pune:
The List of Successful Candidates opted for AFMC
shall be forwarded to the Directorate General of Armed Force Medical Service,
Ministry of Defence, Government of India for Second Stage Screening and
Counselling. Candidates are advised to contact AFMC for further details.
NEET – Reservation of Seats:
1.
All India merit list and State-wise list of
the qualified candidates shall be prepared on the basis of the marks obtained
in the NEET and candidates shall be admitted to MBBS/BDS courses from the said
list only by following the Existing Reservation Policies.
2.
All admission to MBBS/BDS courses within in
the respective categories shall be based solely on marks obtained in the
National Eligibility-cum-Entrance test.
3.
All other existing eligibility criteria for
admission to Medical /Dental Colleges shall be applicable as per Rules and
Policies of the State /UT / Institutions / University concerned.
Reservation of Seats in Government Medical Colleges Under 15%
All India Quotas:
a.
15% seats are reserved for SC candidates,
b.
7.5% seats are reserved for ST candidates,
c.
27% seats are reserved for non-creamy layer
OBC candidates
d. 3% seats are reserved for PH candidates.
NEET-State Code of Eligibility:
Candidates may choose State Code(s) on the basis of
his/her eligibility to claim seats under State Quota in any State. Candidate’s
rank in the merit list for 85% State Quota seats will be generated on the basis
of the State Code of Eligibility
filled in by the Candidates in the application form.
NEET – Admit Card:
Candidates are required to
download the admit cards from the CBSE website.
Candidate may please note that admit cards will not be sent by the post.
The schedules of hosting of admit cards are as follows:
a.
Applications
without Late Fee: 01.04.2013
b.
Applications
with Late Fee: 10.04.2013
The Admit Card will bear the
candidate’s Roll Number, Name, Father’s Name, Category, Sub-Category,
Photograph, Signature, Date of Birth, Language of Question Paper with Name and
Address of NEET Examination centre allotted.
The candidate should
carefully examine the Admit Card downloaded by him/her for all the entries made
therein. In case of any discrepancy, the candidate should immediately inform
the Board. In no case, the duplicate Admit Card for NEET would be issued at the
Examination Centres. Candidate must not mutilate the Admit Card or change any
entry made therein. Candidates are advised to preserve their Admit Cards in
good condition till admission in Medical/ Dental Colleges is over.
NEET – Important Information:
1.
Admit Card, Card Board/Clip Board, Post Card
size Photograph and Ball Point Pen of good quality to be brought on the day of
examination.
2.
All rough work is to be done in the Test
Booklet only. The candidate will not do any rough work or put any stray mark on
the machine gradable Answer Sheet.
3.
Candidates have to use Blue/Black Ball Point
Pen only for Writing of particulars on the Test Booklet and responses on the
Answer Sheet.
4.
Application Forms after last date will not be
accepted irrespective of the date of booking. Candidates must note that after
submission of the application form it cannot be withdrawn.
5.
Students from the States of Andhra Pradesh and J&K are NOT ELIGIBLE for 15% all India quota seats as both
these States had opted out of All India Scheme since its inception. If they
claim eligibility, they must submit an affidavit, in original on non-judicial
Stamp Paper of Rs 10/- duly sworn in before and attested by a Metropolitan
Magistrate/First Class Judicial Magistrate.
NEET – Mode of Payment:
1. Candidates can apply only ONLINE.
2. Online submission of application may be made by accession the Board’s website www.cbseneet.nic.in.
3. Candidates may remit the fee in the following manner-
a. Through Debit / Credit Card / Internate Banking using online gateway payment facility or
b. Depositing in CBSE Bank Account with Canara Bank or Syndicate Bank directly or
c. Depositing in CBSE Account with e-Post Office by downloading the Challan form from the CBSE website.
NEET – Mode of Submission of Application Form:
1. The duration of submission of application form without late fee and with late fees is given in Fee Details/Fee Dates.
2. Follow the instructions for submitting online application, payment of fee and computer generated printout to CBSE on www.cbseneet.nic.in.
3. Candidates may take the assistance of Facilitation Centres for submission of application form free of cost during working hours.
Please ensure before mailing the print out of the Confirmation Page of online application form that
1. The applicant has signed the Form at specified place and affixed left hand thumb impression.
2. The application bears the signature of Parent/Guardian.
3. The application has been authenticated/signed by the Head of the Institution/Gazetted Officer.
4. The two similar good quality colour studio photographs with white background (taken on or after 01.11.2012) have been duly pasted in the space earmarked for it.
5. Further, ensure that application form number & candidate name has been written on the back of both the photographs.
6. The Confirmation Page of online application sent by Courier shall not be accepted.
NEET – Confirmation page submitting Address:
For sending Computer Generated Confirmation Page of online Application Form use any good quality A5 size (12” x 10”) envelope and paste the Computer Generated CBSE Address Slip on the envelope and dispatched only by Registered/Speed Post to:
