1. What is AIIMS Medical Entrance
Exam?
Ans. All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) conducts the national level MBBS entrance exam for admission to first year full time MBBS program. It also conducts B.Sc (Hons) Para Medical, Nursing and Post Certificate programs for admission to Bachelor of Nursing program in various disciplines for the commencing session 2012-13. The AIIMS MBBS entrance exam will be conducted on 1st June of every.

Ans. All
India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Delhi was established in 1956 and also the institution of
national importance by an Act of Parliament with the objects to develop
patterns of teaching in Undergraduate and Post-graduate Medical Education
in all its branches so as to demonstrate a high standard of Medical Education
in India; to bring together in one place educational facilities of the highest
order for the training of personnel in all important branches of health
activity; and to attain self-sufficiency in Post-graduate Medical Education.
3. Who is eligible to apply for AIIMS?
Ans. The minimum age of applicant should not be less than 17
years and not more than 23 years of age at the time of appearing the exam. He should have passed 12th standard in the first
attempt and with a minimum marks of 60% in English and 60% in Physics,
Chemistry and Biology taken together, from any State Higher Secondary Board or
equivalent. NRI's and Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) who have qualified from
foreign universities will have to produce an equivalence certificate from the
Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi. Those who will appear for the
qualifying examination in March / April 2012 can also apply.

5. What is the eligibility Criteria for AIIMS MBBS?
Ans. 10+2 or equivalent
with 60% marks (50% for SC/ST) in English, Physics Chemistry and Biology.
Candidates must have completed 17 years of age as on December 31 of the year of
admission and above.
6. What
is the paper pattern for AIIMS MBBS?
Ans. AIIMS MBBS Medical
entrance exam comprises of objective type questions.
Paper is divided into 4
parts namely; Physics section consisting of 60 questions, Chemistry comprising
of 60 questions, Biology (Botany and Zoology) - 60 questions and General
Knowledge- 20 questions.
The exam will be of 3
hours 30 minutes duration without any break.
In total there will be
200 questions.
There will be negative
marking system where 1 mark will be awarded for each correct answer while 1/3
marks will be reduced for each incorrect response.
7. How to
Apply for AIIMS MBBS exam?
Ans. The Prospectus-cum-application fee is Rs. 1000/- for general
category candidates (Rs 800/- in case of SC/ST candidates).
Candidates can apply online by filling in the online application
made available on AIIMS’s official website: www.aiimsexams.org. Candidates
can pay the application fee through a challan form (downloaded from the internet
while applying online) in any branch of State Bank of India.
Candidates can also obtain the application form along with the
information bulletin by speed post/registered post by sending a crossed bank
draft for Rs.1050/- (For General OBC / OBC candidates) and Rs.850/- (For SC/ST
candidates) drawn in favor of the Accounts Officer (Exams), AIIMS-MBBS payable
at New Delhi.
The request must reach the Assistant Controller of Examinations,
All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Ansari Nagar, New Delhi -110 608 on or
before the last date.
Prospectus can also be availed by hand from the Reception Counter
of examination Section, AIIMS against Bank DD for Rs.1000/- (General/OBC
candidates) and Rs.800/-(SC/ST candidates) drawn in favor of the Accounts
Officer (Exams), AIIMS-MBBS payable at New Delhi.

The Prospectus-cum-Application Form can also be obtained by Speed Post/Registered Post by sending a written request with an account payee Bank Demand Draft of Rs.1050/- (Rs.850/- for SC/ST candidates) in favour of ACCOUNTS OFFICER (EXAMS), AIIMS payable at New Delhi. The Bank Draft should be valid up to July/August 2010. The name of the course applied for must be written on reverse of the Demand Draft alongwith candidate’s name. The request must reach the Assistant
Controller of Examinations, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Ansari Nagar, New Delhi – 110 608 on or before 15.03.2010. Money Order/Cheque/Postal Order/Cash or any other form of payment will NOT be accepted for postal sale. The words “REQUEST FOR APPLICATION FORM FOR MBBS ENTRANCE EXAMINATION 2010” should be written on the envelope containing request for application form, and also on top of the request letter. The address at which Application Form is required should be written clearly in CAPITAL LETTERS with PIN code. AIIMS will not be responsible for delay in/non-receipt of Application Form caused by illegible or incomplete address.

What is the reservation criterion for students?
Ans. Each year 77 (seventy seven) seats are available for admission to the graduate medical course, leading to the award of the degree of M.B.B.S. by the All India Institute of Medical Sciences. Out of these, 11 (eleven) seats are reserved for the Scheduled Castes, 5 (five) seats are reserved for the Scheduled Tribes, 19 (nineteen) seats are reserved for Other Backward Classes and 5 (five) seats are reserved for the Foreign Nationals nominated by the Government of India and 37 (thirty seven) seats for General Category. For Indian Nationals, 3% reservation for orthopaedic physically handicapped shall be provided on horizontal basis, in the seats available. If requisite number of suitable candidates is not available to fill the seats reserved for the Scheduled Castes, the same are filled out of the candidates belonging to the Scheduled Tribes and vice versa. In case suitable candidates are not available from the above two reserved categories, Orthopaedically handicapped and OBCs, the vacant seats will be filled by the candidates from the general category.

What are the documents required at the time of the admission?
Ans. Candidates selected for admission to the MBBS course at the AIIMS after verification of their eligibility and offered admission/should bring the following original certificates/testimonials/documents at the time of admission:
(i) Certificate of having passed the 10+2 or equivalent examinations, showing the subject offered by him/her in the examination.
(ii) Certificate from the Board from which he/she passed the High School/Higher Secondary Examination, showing his/her date of birth.
(iii) Certificate/Mark sheet from the Board from which he/she passed the 10+2 or equivalent examination showing that he/she has secured 60% or more marks (50% in case of SC/ST/Orthopaedic Physically handicapped candidates) in aggregate in English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
(iv) Migration Certificate from the University/Board last attended by him/her.
a) SC/ST Certificate issued by the competent authority. Community should be clearly mentioned in the certificate.
b) OBC Certificate issued by the competent authority. The sub-caste should tally with the Central list of OBC. OBC candidates should not belong to Creamy layer. OBC certificate must be in the prescribed format.
c) Certificate from prescribed authority showing that he/she belongs to Orthopaedic Physically Handicapped Category
