GCET (Goa)-2015

GCET-2015
About Goa-CET:
The Directorate of Technical Education, Government of Goa shall conduct Goa Common Entrance Test 2015 (GCET-15) for admissions to Professional Degree courses in Medical, Dental, Engineering, Pharmacy, Homeopathy, Allied Health Sciences and Nursing (at Institute of Nursing Education) in the State of Goa, for the academic year 2015-16. Admissions to Degree course in Architecture (B. Arch) shall be on the basis of NATA (National Aptitude Test in Architecture) as per details given under eligibility.

·         Dates of GCET:          05-05-2015 (Tuesday) & 06-05-2015 (Wednesday)
·         Expected date of result of GCET:      13- 05- 2015

Note: - Directorate of Technical Education reserves the right to modify the above schedule, depending upon the exigency of the situation.

Eligibility Criteria:
Nationality: Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) /Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) cardholders are considered eligible for admissions to seats under NRI Category. Foreign Nationals must apply to Govt. of India.
Age: Candidate must have competed the age of 17 years on or before 31st December of the academic year of admission. No age limit, minimum or maximum, is specified for admission to Engineering, Pharmacy and Architecture.
Valid score at GCET-2015: For Medicine and Dentistry Degree courses, minimum GCET score should be 50% (40% in case of SC/ST/OBC and 45% for applicants belonging to PH category.) aggregate in specified subjects. An applicant for Degree Course in Architecture must have appeared and obtained valid score at NATA (National Aptitude Test in Architecture) conducted by Council of Architecture.
Qualifying Examination & Minimum Marks
First Year MBBS, BDS, BHMS & AHS - Applicant should have passed the Higher Secondary Certificate (Std. XII) examination of Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent examination with English and secured not less than 50% marks in the aggregate of subjects of Physics, Chemistry, and Biology taken together. (40% for SC, ST and OBC and 45% for PH category).
First Year B.E. - The applicant should have passed the Higher Secondary School Certificate (Std.XIIth) examination of the Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent examination with English, Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects with one of the following subjects Chemistry/Bio-Technology/Computer Science /Biology, and secured not less than 45% marks in the aggregate of subjects of Physics & Mathematics with one of the following subjects Chemistry/Bio-Technology/Computer Science/Biology. (40% for SC, ST and OBC only).
Candidates who have already passed/have appeared, or are appearing at HSSC (Std. XIIth Science) or equivalent examination, before the start of the academic session, are eligible to appear at GCET–15.

Pattern of Goa-CET:
·         GCET-2015 shall be four papers in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology.
·         Each paper will consist of 75 questions, of one mark each.
·         Duration of the each paper is two hours (120 minutes).
·         There is NO negative marking for wrong/multiple answers.
·         An Objective Response Sheet (ORS) shall be used as the answer sheet.
·         GCET-2015 shall be based on the syllabus prescribed by the Goa Board of Secondary & Higher Secondary Education, Porvorim, for Standard XIIth (Science) examination for the current year.

Admission Procedure:
Applicants shall download, print and submit application form for GCET-2015(Form A), at notified locations as per Centre opted, on specified dates, along with application fee of Rs. 1500/- payable vide demand draft drawn in favour of “Director of Technical Education” at Panaji – Goa, on any Scheduled Bank, and three identical photographs as indicated, and other relevant certificates (self attested photo copies), to obtain the Photo-Admit Card, from the Admission Committee. Admit cards will be issued only to candidates in person. Applicants shall ensure that the validity of the Demand Draft is at least 3 months from the date of issue.
Incomplete Application Forms shall not be accepted. Application Form for GCET-15 shall not be accepted by post or through messenger. Forms shall be accepted with additional Late Fee of Rs. 1000/- till scheduled date (30-04-2015). Forms shall not be accepted after the last date of submission mentioned in the prospectus.
