Details of IIT-BHU:
(IIT-BHU), inherits the
legacy of excellence and tradition of the erstwhile three colleges - Benares
Engineering College (BENCO) established in 1919, College of Mining and
Metallurgy (MINMET) established in 1923, and College of Technology (TECHNO)
established in 1932 by Mahamana Pt.
Madan Mohan Malaviya Ji, the illustrious founder of the Banaras Hindu
University and a great patriot and visionary. To provide a strong integrated
educational base BENCO, MINMET and TECHNO were merged to form the Institute of
Technology in 1969. The global community of this
institute is involved in key areas of research, communications, consulting and
management with the respective industry leaders, thereby helping spread the
branches of the knowledge tree and help everyone else grow with them.

(Vol.-IV) from Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India, the
Institutes of Technology (Amendment) Act, 2012 (No.34 of 2012) has come into
force on 29th day of
June 2012 and consequently, the erstwhile Institute of Technology, BHU has
become Indian Institute of Technology (Banaras Hindu University), Varanasi
w.e.f. June 29, 2012.

About
JEE Information:
The admissions to the undergraduate programme at Indian Institute of Technology - Banaras Hindu University (IIT-BHU) are made through an all India competitive examinations known as Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) conducted by the seven IITs, IIT-BHU and ISM Dhanbad. It is considered to be the most prestigious examination of national importance at 10+2 level.
Admission to 4-Year B. Tech./
B. Pharm. programmes, 5-Year Dual Degree Programmes and 5-Year Integrated
Master Degree Progammes are made through the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE)
conducted jointly by the IITs, Indian Institute of Technology, Banaras Hindu
University and the Indian School of Mines University, Dhanbad. For admission to
4-Year B.Pharm. programme 50% seats are filled through JEE and 50% through
PMT/PAT conducted by the University. Admission to Two-Year M.Tech./M.Pharm. Programmes
are made on the basis of GATE Score. In addition, there is provision of
admitting sponsored candidates from academic institutions, industries and
R&D organizations. Admission to Ph.D. programmes is made on the basis of
GATE/NET scores and through sponsorship by the employer.
Institute
also offers research programmes in all sixteen disciplines.

B.Tech. Programme in Ceramic Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil
Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics
Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering and Mining
Engineering.

Cash
Receipt of all payments made at the time of Seat Allotment.
8.
Affidavits, in original and their photocopies on
non-judicial stamp paper of ` 10.00 each duly completed and signed
by you and your parent/guardian, regarding ragging, at the time of

regarding not keeping/using automated 2/3/4-wheelers in the hostel/University
campus.
10.
An affidavit in original on the prescribed format
on non-judicial stamp paper of Rs. 10.00 regarding not going to the bank of
river/lake/waterfalls/ponds, use of alcohol etc. in the hostel, parties or
elsewhere, duly completed and signed by you and your parent/guardian, at the

FEE
1.
For General/OBC Candidates: No fee is required at the time of
registration, for those who have already deposited Rs. 40,000/-
as fee for seat allotment.
2.
For SC/ST Candidates: A demand draft of Rs. 1440.00 drawn in favour of “Chairman, JEE,
IT-BHU” payable at State
Bank of India, Institute of Technology, BHU, Varanasi (Code – 11445).
3.
Those who have been allotted a seat in fourth round counseling,
but have not deposited the requisite fee as yet, are required to deposit a
demand draft of Rs. 40,000.00 (for GE/OBC category) or Rs. 21,440.00 (for SC/ST category) drawn in favour of “Chairman, JEE,
IT-BHU” payable at State
Bank of India, Institute of Technology, BHU, Varanasi (Code – 11445).
4.
An amount of Rs. 10,000.00 is required to be deposited in cash by
all students seeking accommodation in hostel towards the mess charges in the
concerned hostel.
5.
All candidates (GE/OBC/SC/ST categories) are required to deposit
a demand draft of Rs. 2000.00 drawn
in favour of “Students Dress Account, IT-BHU” payable at, State Bank of India, BHU,
Varanasi (Code – 0211), for the Institute’s Ceremonial Dress (navy blue
blazer cloth, maroon tie and crest).
IMPORTANT POINTS
1.
It is mandatory that the candidate reports to the concerned
hostel on the date as stipulated.
2.
It is mandatory for all candidates to
attend the Registration/Orientation Programme on July 27, 2012.
3.
No accommodation will be provided for
parents on campus. They can arrange their own accommodation in hotels/lodges in
the city details of which can be searched on the internet or as convenient.
4.
Parents are cordially invited to attend the Orientation
Programme on July 27, 2012.
5. Details
regarding Registration/Orientation Programme will be available at the concerned
hostel.
6.
You may further note that keeping/using of automated
2/3/4-wheelers in hostel premises is strictly prohibited and as per rules any
student found using automated vehicles of above type, and in hostel/University
Campus shall be subject to appropriate disciplinary action including expulsion.

Information Regarding Identity
Card, Affidavit, etc.:
1. First
get the signatures of Admin. Warden/Warden of your hostel then of Assistant
Registrar
(Academic, IIT (BHU)) on your Identity Card.
2. Submit
the Undertaking regarding Prohibition of Vehicles in concerned hostel at the time
of room allotment.
3. Submit
photocopies of the affidavits by the student and parents/guardians separately
in your hostel and concerned department/school (within 10 days).
Counter for Opening of Savings Bank
Account with the S.B.I., IT-Branch at Prof. M.Sengupta Hall (G-11):
Collect
the savings bank account form from Prof. M. Sengupta Memorial Hall (G-11) or
SBI, IT-Branch for opening the account and get introductory signature of
Coordinator, IIT (BHU)-Hostels or Admin. Warden/Warden of the concerned hostel
and submit the Completed Bank Form in the Room No. G-11 (Prof. M.Sen Gupta
Memorial Hall) on 27th & 28th July, 2012 from 11.30 a.m. or in
IT-Branch after 30th July 2012. (Please write your room number, name
of the hostel, name of the department/school to which you are admitted and
permanent address in the Address column of the form).
