Analysis of IIT-JEE 2016
According
to the latest pattern, JEE is conducted for the admission to Undergraduate
Engineering Programs at NITs, IIITs and other CFTIs. This is a two phase exam,
the first phase JEE (Main) is designed almost on previous year Pattern. The second phase is JEE (Advanced), which is
based on the eligibility criteria set by the IITs. This phase is meant for the
serious candidates who aspire to enter the most sought after premier
institutions like IITs. JEE (Advanced) is conducted on same lines with that of
IIT-JEE.

lakh students appeared for JEE (Main), which was conducted in 132 cities in
India and abroad. Total candidates Registered for JEE (Main) in 2015 were
around 13 lakh, 13.56 lakh in 2014 and 14.62 lakh in 2013.

Results of JEE (Main)
2016 [Top 2 lakh candidates are short listed for JEE-Advanced]
The results of the
JEE (Main) 2016 was declared on 27 April 2016, Wednesday conducted by the CBSE
on their official website (www.jeemain.nic.in). Question paper of JEE (Main)
2016 for B. Tech course was of total 360 marks. The Offline exam of JEE (Main)
Paper-1 was conducted on 3rd April 2016 whereas, the Online exam was held on
9th & 10th April, 2016 by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT). Based
on JEE (Main) 2016 Paper I scores, top two lakh candidates got shortlisted for
JEE (Advanced) 2016.
Last
year, the cut-off was 105 for General category, 70 for OBC, 50 for SC and 44
for ST. This year, the cut-off has been dropped than the last year - 100 for
General category, 70 for OBC, 52 for SC category and 48 for ST.

JEE
(Main) 2016 All India Rank (AIR)
The JEE (Main) 2016 All India
Rank list was announced on 23rd June
2016, Thursday on the official website: http://jeemain.nic.in/webinfo/Public/Home.aspx and http://cbseresults.nic.in/jee/jee_2016.htm. Students can check their result
by entering roll number and date of birth in the text boxes. The
list shows the top 1,000 positions - 853 of them secured by boys and 147 by girls.
The All India Ranks (AIR) of the candidates was prepared after normalizing 60%
weightage for the JEE (Main) score and with 40% weightage for Class XII marks.
The JEE (Main) All India Ranks will be used for around 34,781 seats –
pertaining to 629 courses in 23 IITs, 31 NITs, 20 IIITs and 18 GFTIs in India.
Qualifying Criteria for
JEE (Advanced) 2016
The total marks obtained in
Mathematics will be the marks awarded for Mathematics in Paper 1 and Paper 2.
The total marks obtained in Physics and Chemistry will also be calculated in
the same way. The aggregate marks will be calculated as the sum of the marks
obtained in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. Candidates have to satisfy the
subject-wise as well as the aggregate qualifying marks to be included in a rank
list.

each in Paper-1 and Paper-2)

The results for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced
2016 were declared on 12 June 2016, Sunday on http://www.jeeadv.ac.in/announcements The JEE
(Advanced) Exam was held on 22 May 2016, Sunday. Category-wise All India Ranks
(AIR) of successful candidates will be available on the online portal after the
results are declared. Obtaining a rank in JEE (Advanced) 2016 does not
guarantee admission to IITs or ISM.
