Amrita Entrance Examination for Engineering 2014

Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham:

Amrita Engineering Entrance Examination is conducted every year in more than 75 cities across the country for admission to the B.Tech. programmes at its three Schools of Engineering located at Amritapuri, Bengaluru and Coimbatore. The University brochure and Information Handbook are included in the Application packet provides more details about the exam and the facilities available in the University. The duration of exam is 3 hours.

About Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham (University):

Amrita University was started by the world-renowned humanitarian leader, Sri Mata Amritanandamayi Devi, Amma. As Chancellor of the University, Amma continues to guide the university's mission and growth. The Mata Amritanandamayi Math is the parent organization of Amrita University. The first Amrita institute for higher learning was founded in 1994. Today that institute is one among its many Schools spread over five campuses. Several notable milestones have defined this growth of the university to the multi-campus, multi-disciplinary center of learning. Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham is a University established under section 3 of the UGC Act 1956.

Important Dates for 2014 B. Tech: 

1.      Issue of Application Forms begins: 16th of December, 2013
2.      Last date of issue of Application Form: 21st of March, 2014
3.      Last date for receiving completed Applications: 24th of March, 2014
4.      Publication of Rank List: Within four weeks from the date of Exam.
5.      Date of Entrance Exam: 13th April, 2014 (Sunday) 10:00 AM to 01:00 PM

Eligibility Criteria:
·         Age - Candidates shall be born on or after 1st July 1993.
·         Educational Qualification - A pass in 10+2 (class XII)or its equivalent securing an aggregate of 60% marks in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry with not less than 55% marks in each of these three subjects.
(OR)
·         A three year Diploma in Engineering with minimum 60% marks, awarded by any State Board of Technical Education or its equivalent.

Note: Those who appear for the above examinations in March/April 2014 may also apply.
Seat allotment through Counselling will be based on the eligibility and rank obtained by the Candidate in the Amrita Entrance Examination - Engineering 2014.

Entrance Exam Pattern:

The duration of the Examination is 3 hours (10 AM to 1 PM). There will be only one question paper containing objective type questions in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. Each question will be followed by four answers of which only one is correct / most appropriate. The question booklet will be in English. Each question carries 3 marks. Negative mark (-1) will be awarded for each wrong answer.

Selection is based on the rank obtained in the All India Amrita Entrance Examination conducted by Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham.
